Hayden's Journey
Being the busy film star that he is, Hayden's schedule was already full when the DWTSGame was added to it. Some viewers were afraid this would either add too much pressure on Christensen or make him lose focus and perform terribly. Julianne Hough said she sees bright things in Hayden's dancing future.
In Week 1, Hayden and Julianne danced a Quickstep to "Kryptonite" by Three Doors Down. The judges really liked it, with Judge Elena Grinenko saying Hayden made the dance look sexy. The judges awarded it with a 31 out of 40 for the night, landing them in third place for the night.
In Week 2, Hayden and Julianne danced a Samba to "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eyed Peas. The judges loved the dance, with Judge Bruno Tonioli calling Hayden a contender. They were given 36 points for the night, landing them in first place for the night.
In Week 3, Hayden and Julianne danced a Paso Doble to "Imperial March" by John Williams, better known as Darth Vader's theme from Star Wars. The judges were amazed with the dance, with Judge Carrie Ann Inaba calling it her most favorite dance of the season. They were given an unprecidented perfect 40 points for the night (the earliest ever achieved, beating Season 4's Sandra Bullock by one week), landing them in first place for the night, yet again. It came as no surprise that the dance soon became the encore performance on result show night.
In Week 4, Hayden ditched Julianne to dance a Samba with Eva Mendes to "Funhouse" by P!nk. Together, they were praised for an excellent job as a team, but the judges gave Eva more credit. The judges (including former contestant Mila Kunis) gave the dance 37 points. When they later danced to a Paso Doble to "Stronger" by Kanye West as part of Team Kendall (Schmidt), the dance went over better. The younger couples all worked powerfully and were fully in sync enough to make the judges (including former winner/host Kendall Schmidt) give it 37 points. They ended the night with 74 out of 80.
In Week 5, Hayden and Julianne danced a 007-themed Argentine Tango to "Goldfinger" by Shirley Bassey. Hayden and Julianne were all decked out in gold for the dance, with Hayden even dying his hair for the dance. They judges mostly loved the dance and gave it a 39 out of 40. Hayden and Julianne then danced with the other couples left to a Salsa Marathon (with music provided by "Saca Tu Mujer" by Tito Puente).
